The Institute for Plasma Research is a premier scientific institute
under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India devoted to
research and development activities in the areas of basic Plasma
Physics, Magnetic Confinement fusion and industrial applications of
plasmas. Applications are invited from highly motivated and result
oriented candidates for the posts of :
- ENGINEER – SC (ITER-India) - B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Mechanical Engineering.
- ENGINEER – SC (MECHANICAL) - B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Mechanical Engineering.
- ENGINEER – SC (CIVIL) - B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Civil Engineering
- ENGINEER – SC (CHEMICAL) - B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Chemical Engineering.
- SCIENTIST – SC - Minimum 60% in M.Sc. Physics
- TECHNICAL ASSISTANT – B - Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical passed with minimum 60%
- SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT – B - B.Sc. (3 Years) minimum 60% with (Physics / Chemistry) as a main subject
- SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT – B (COMPUTER) - Minimum 60% in B.Sc. (Computer Science)
AGE LIMIT : Engineer / Scientist – SC and Scientific / Technical Assistants – B - 30 years. Tradesman – A – 25 years.

Institute for Plasma Research is located on the banks of the Sabarmati
river near the Indira Bridge in village Bhat ( Gandhinagar district). It
is approximately midway between the cities of Ahmedabad and
Gandhinagar. It can easily be reached from Ahmadabad, being about 5 Kms
from the Ahmedabad airport, and 14 Kms from the Ahmedabad railway
station. Private taxis and autorickshaws can be hired at the airport and
railway station to reach the Institute. Two other well known landmarks
close to the Institute, are the Mother Dairy and the Kanoria Hospital.
