Required Skills :

1. Total of 1-2 years of supporting large IT infrastructure (500+ servers)
2. Windows server administration (MCSE)
3. VCP - ESX server (Troubleshooting, Virtual machine creation, cloning and configuration, command line ESX, resource pools)
4. vCluster configuration , Virtual Centre usage.
5. P2V techniques and tools.
6. SAN storage, VMFS knowledge.
7. Networking, VLAN.
8. Snapshots
9. SQL Server 2008 and Active Directory workings
10. Performance Analysis and Tuning/Optimisation Operations
11. Experience in installing and configuring SQL Server on VMware
12. Working knowledge of SQL Server clustering on Windows 2003 R2
13. Log shipping and different types of DRP plans
14. Database Maintenance Plans and scheduling jobs
15. Capture schema changes
16. In depth knowledge of TSQL (Stored Procedures, Triggers and functions)
17. Table partitions
18. Performance tuning of large databases
19. Experience in Security management, auditing and user access control on the databases

Preferred Skills :

1. ITIL Knowledge
2. Knowledge of vFoglight and CiRBA
3. Experience of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy
4. Experience in setting up SSRS (requirement gathering, including development and deployment of reports).
5. Experience in Version Control and documentation tools for Version control
6. Worked in a global support environment and interaction with US and European customers
7. Knowledge of SUSE 11
8. Experience of SM7 or similar
9. ITIL Foundation certification is a plus. MCSE - Windows Server/SQL Server

Job Description :

1. Provide a sound level of technical competence to deliver capabilities to technical policies, standards and within timescales.
2. Contribute to the reduction of incidents for DCMS Platforms and provide proactive problem management in order to maintain high service levels.
3. Contribute to the definition and implementation of operating procedures and operability on new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to defined Operations Standards.
4. Adhere to the release process to ensure products/services are delivered in a supportable manner and to defined standards of quality and software compliance.
5. Provide detailed implementation/project plans across multiple work streams according to agreed standards. Attention should be given to communicate any risks or issues using the appropriate escalation procedures.
6. Produce, deliver and maintain appropriate documentation for systems in accordance with Technical Operations document control standards and procedures. Also provide input to records, quality systems and management reports as required.
7. Adhere to change management procedures in defining, planning and implementing change in such a way that service disruption is minimised, and adherence to Service Level Agreements is ensured.
8. Provide input to Technical Recovery plans, and to take part in technical recovery for major incidents within your defined area.
9. Work and cooperate with internal and external groups when required in order to fully support environments and maintain service.
10. To ensure correct referral and escalation of issues.
11. Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities.
12. Work out of hours when appropriate to support major implementations or to react to high priority service issues.
